We have earlier covered 10 amazing research facts about twitter in our blog post where we shared a research study conducted at Harvard University. The research study found out that Twitter faces a serious user retention problem and there are loads of inactive users as well. In such a background, Twitter wants to increase its foothold in businesses and make it a more helpful tool for corporations looking for new avenues to increase their reach to their customers.
Twitter launched a new Twitter 101 Guide for Businesses that will help them to promote their business via Twitter. According to Twitter official site, here is how Twitter can help businesses;
“Twitter is a communications platform that helps businesses and their customers do a number of useful things. As a business, you can use it to quickly share information with people interested in your company, gather real-time market intelligence and feedback, and build relationships with customers, partners and other people who care about your company. As an individual user, you can use Twitter to tell a company (or anyone else) that you’ve had a great–or disappointing–experience with their business, offer product ideas, and learn about great offers.”
The Twitter 101 Guide for Business has following sections:
“What is Twitter”, “Getting started”, “Learn the lingo”, “Best practices”, “Case studies” and “Other resources”.
The case studies provide an idea to the users as to how they can better use Twitter to their benefit. At this stage, everything is for free but Twitter might start charging its business users in the future. Let’s see if this new initiative helps Twitter increase the users retention and their compel the dormant users to actively start using it?
