I always hate the sight of a strange looking dongle type thingy connected to either side of your laptop. It gives a bad look to the flashy laptop that you may have purchased with a big price tag. On the other hand, connecting my laptop to the internet while being on the move is my essential requirement since i have to write blog posts while being actually on the move. All those people who are suffering from MJK Dilemma, can now rejoice the upcoming product of Huawei labeled E583 HSDPA (3G) Wi Fi modem.
The amazing thing about this modem is that you actually don’t have to attach it to your laptop! It acquires the HSDPA signals and pass them on to your system through a wireless mechanism. In other words, you can keep the modem in your pocket and still enjoy the 3G connectivity on your laptop. The device is handy and hence won’t feel heavy on your pockets. You can actually tuck it in your belt like your phone.
The Huawei 3G Modem feature flashy lights on its front while it has a 1500 mAh battery on its back that can support the device to run for 5-6 hours as per the information shared by the Huawei team. The negative side of the current version of the modem is that it can only support one connection at a time. However, Huawei do have a plan to upgrade it to support multiple connections in its future versions.
The current version will be launched in July, 2009 in Europe through the mobile operators.
