Lock your Laptop automatically from your Mobile Phone while you walk away!

I am wondering how i missed this interesting app until now. Imagine when you just walk away from you notebook (with your mobile phone in your hand or in pocket) it locks automatically and when you come back it unlocks by just sensing that you’re back. This is possible by an intelligent software that makes use of blue tooth technology to lock/unlock your system.

Phoenix Freeze works on Vista and XP locks/unlocks with any blue tooth enabled phone. obviously your PC also needs to have blue tooth facility. All you need to do is install this freeze software on both the PC and your phone (currently it supports iphone and BlackBerry). Go through a few settings, and you are done; simply when you walk away from your PC with your device it will lock up until you return. You can configure a “safety zone” or distance before it locks. You can walk away knowing your data is safe. When you return it unlocks and you can continue working. There are options either you want to lock or hibernate.

This comes in handy for better security, as well as better power consumption. So if you forget locking your PC while going outside to attend your personal call, you won’t have to worry about locking your PC manually or putting it into standby. You can download the Phoenix Freeze by clicking here. Also check out the Freeze video available on their site.

Unfortunately for me I could not set it up as it gives me a weired error saying that I am not online and the software wanted to activate itself. Anyways if any of you happen to test it do send me screenshots so i can update this post. You can send me at mansoor (dot) ehsan (at) gmail.
