Will Seesmic Desktop win over Tweetdeck?

by dave on May 3, 2009

11% of the tweeters use tweetdeck, the famous desktop application for twitter; and it is second to twitter website itself (almost 26% users). These figures from twitstat are enough to show how popular tweetdeck is. But we all are looking toward to seesmic desktop which is currently used by around 2% of the users.

The only thing that frustrates me about tweetdeck is its inability to handle multiple accounts. For this I previously used twhirl but again it only supports single column view. Now seesmic desktop, even though being  the follower, has combined the abilities of both twhirl and tweetdeck to give multiple accounts and multiple column display. Another limitation of tweetdeck being limited to 10 columns of updates has also been taken care off in seesmic

To add more flavors seesmic has added facebook related features. While TweetDeck lets you have updates from facebook and post status updates to the site, Seesmic has added the ability to view comments, like feed, photos and more.

For those who always wished for tweetdeck to handle multi-accounts, probably it/s time to change to seesmic desktop.
