Sound:
Extremetech reviews the sound aspect of this product in great depth
The sound produces some good pop, but nothing beyond what even cheap dedicated speakers can provide. Playing music is akin to leaving your clock radio left on, or having one of those bathroom radios when you take a shower. While there are two sets of speakers, you do get some good volume out of them. The Bass Boost button is essentially an attenuator for quickly reducing the sound volume if someone walks by and wants to have a chat.
For a speaker keyboard, we weren’t entirely surprised by the sound quality, but this is something somebody can use if they don’t want speakers and a subwoofer gobbling up good real estate. You can definitely get your groove on with them, but we at ExtremeTech are spoiled with some high-end audio equipment, so we’ll keep our dedicated speakers and oversized subwoofer.
We would have preferred a volume knob rather than volume up/volume down buttons. For something as important as a speaker keyboard, we feel a knob is a must.
