Copyrights and Intellectual trademarks are an important way to protect your unique design or style from getting copied by the rivals. I am sure anyone of you who has seen Apple iDevices will have noticed the famous Apple “Slide to Unlock” style as well as their “Keyboard Letter Pop” when typing on their virtual keyboard. The news say it that Apple has successfully patented these two unique design styles.
Apple applied for the patent of these two designs three years ago and yesterday their application was finally approved after considering all legal requirements. It is worth noting here that till date no other company has copied the two styles but with the new copyrights protection, no one can even copy them in future as well. In case they have to do it, they have to seek permission from Apple and may also pay certain fees to Apple for its usage as well. The Patent notification is titled ” Animated graphical user interfaces for a display screen or portion“
I wonder if anyone really wants to copy the two design ideas? Do you think they are worth copying by anyone in the industry?
