[Blogging] Most of the time; in order to produce quality and competitive blogposts one may enter into a lot of reading and researching…its not bad to research thoroughly but one should not procrastinate while browsing tons of interesting stuff that comes up while you’re on a hunt for new blog post.
In order to improve myself being more focused, i came across this Pomodoro which is very effective time management and productivity technique.
What is Pomodoro?
Pomodoro Technique is a time management method that can be used for any kind of task. For many people, time is an enemy. Anxiety triggered by “the ticking clock”, especially when a deadline is involved, leads to ineffective work and study habits which in turn lead to procrastination.
The aim of the Pomodoro Technique is to use time as a valuable ally in accomplishing what we want to do in the way we want to do it, and to enable us to continually improve the way we work or study.
Most of the times there is no deadline involved if you’re the lone blogger but it really gives a sense of some direction if you set a deadline for yourself. Set a deadline for your daily round of blogposts and employ Pomodoro! The Pomodoro technique was developed by Franseco Cirillo in 1992 and has come a long way today.
To start the pomodoro action you just need a simple timer; a pencil, a to do sheet, an activity inventory sheet, and a record sheet. You can find all of these resources, cheat sheet, pdf book and more understanding material here on Pomodoro’s website.
Here is how Pomodoro works:
1. Choose a task to be accomplished
2. Set the Pomodoro to 25 minutes (the Pomodoro is the timer)
3. Work on the task until the Pomodoro rings, then put a check on your sheet of paper
4. Take a short break (5 minutes is OK)
5. Every 4 Pomodoros take a longer break
I am just practicing it now; how about you? What other time management techniques you use; share with us in comments :^)
BTW; I am wondering if you would have a simple timer? For that I have found the free Focus Booster App which is a Pomodoro-centered timer app, available as a free webapp or Adobe Air download, to help you time and manage your own “Pomodoros.”
