Call US & Canada PHONES FREE for rest of the year via Gmail

by dave on August 25, 2010

Just moments ago when i logged in at my Gmail I just could not stop smiling when I saw the option to call US and Canada phones for free right from Gmail. Yes! They have integrated Google voice into it.

Official Gmail blog says:

Given that most of us don’t spend all day in front of our computers, we thought, “wouldn’t it be nice if you could call people directly on their phones?” Starting today, you can call any phone right from Gmail.

Calls to the U.S. and Canada will be free for at least the rest of the year (thats what official Gmail blog says) and calls to other countries will be billed at low rates. They have put in some philanthropic heart by giving cheap call rates to the U.K., France, Germany, China, Japan—and many more countries—for as little as $0.02 per minute.

I am all excited!!!! :D . The introductory video is mmm cool :)
