Facebook 3.2 is now available on iTunes, bringing in some excited new features. The most buzzed feature is support for Facebook’s new service called “Places”. Places is a location aware feature that allows you to check in to different places. It is similar to Foursquare and Gowalla. The check ins can be done either alone or with friends or for friends who don’t have a smartphone.
With Places you can share where you are. Your check-in will update your friends’ News Feed and your Wall. You can tag the friends you’re with so they can be part of your update. If your friends are also using Places, there are chances you meet them at same place if both of you check-in.
Apart from places, Facebook 3.2 for iPhone brings new “Pull-to-refresh” feature like Twitter app, and also adds iOS 4 multitasking uploading of photos and videos in the background. Here is the change log for Facebook 3.2:
