How to Hide Files in Pictures with JPG FileBinder?

by MJK on June 1, 2010

I remember back few years someone sent me a JPG pictures through my instant messenger and upon receipt, i discovered that the file was not actually JPG, rather it was a front end for some other file that was attached to it. The person was a friend and he hacked by instant messenger just to give me a demo as to how vulnerable i am on the internet. That hacker friend of mine made me realize the possibility of attaching a file to the picture.

Ok! Today i came across a Free software that approx do the same thing. It is called JPG FileBinder. The software can attach any compressed file like Zip, rar or 7z file to the JPG picture and you can send it to anyone as a picture file. The user will only see the picture file with a bit larger size. Unless the viewer is told that the picture file has a file attached to it, there is no means to detect it. The file can be extracted back from the picture through any decompression software like Winzip, WinRAR or 7Z etc.

Bear it in mind that you can further increase the security of the file by encrypting it or by password protecting it and hence even if the person detects it or accidentally open it with compression software, he will still not be able to read the content of it. I will leave it to your imaginations as to how you can use the JPG FileBinder software.

The software is very easy to use and all the three steps are clearly visible on its front interface as visible in the picture.
