HTC Hero Price and Specifications: In Depth Review

Nowadays Android phones are a main point of attention for everyone. The android phones are known to be the best operating system for smart phones. These phones have the ability to compete with any other smart phone in the market. According to Google, almost 18 android phones will be launched this year. One of the top android phones is the HTC Hero.

HTC Hero has been the focus for many people. The mobile comes with a Google Android OS called as ‘HTC Sense’. An impressive 5 MP camera and flash support in the web browser which makes it unique as compared to any other smart phone. The mobile comes in five colors namely Brown, White (Teflon coating), Graphite, Black and Pink. Now let’s look deep in to what HTC Hero offers:

Design:
The phone comes with a sleek and modern design with the dimensions of 112×56.2×14.35 mm, weighing only about 135 grams just the same as Iphone 3GS. The body is solid from outside and feels soft due to the materials used in making. Mobile come with a 3.2 inch TFT touch screen that can support 65K colors. The mobile display resolution is 320×480 pixels.

Below in the display, are the hardware buttons, the home button, menu button, send and end button. A search key is also included with a back button a little below the other buttons. Other than this a trackball is also available for easy navigation.

On the side is a smooth volume controller. A standard 3.5mm audio jack is placed on top of the phone. The other side has a microSD card slot.

Telephone Experience:
The phone gives a superb voice quality on both ends. The caller and receiver both didn’t complain about anything related to voice quality. HTC Mobiles come with a very nice display. The contents look nice, sharp and rich in colors. A light sensor is adjusted in the phone which automatically adjusts the brightness and contrast according to the light intensity of environment. The phone comes with an impressive responsive touch screen. The screen is covered with an oleophobic coating just the same as iPhone 3GS.

Phone Management:
The phone comes with an impressive practically unlimited call records and just like the call records, the phone is blessed with practically unlimited phonebook entries. The phone comes with an internal memory of 288 MB RAM and 512 MB ROM. The phone supports microSD memory cards, company provides 2GB memory card. The memory card slot can support a card of up to 8GB. Multimedia Quality:
The phone comes with a media player that can support well known audio and video formats such as MP3, AAC, WAV and WM9 audio formats and MP4, H.263, H.264 and WMV9 video formats. The phone allows keeping your favorite music at one touch with the availability of media player on one of the eight main screens.

The music player is organized and user friendly, the options related to the player are available at a bar on the bottom of screen form where you can switch between music. The speaker output is good and the maximum volume is reasonable but the voice quality is decreased and becomes a bit harsh at this stage. A handset is included with the mobile to provide good quality audio experience.

Images and Camera:
The mobile comes with amazing 5MP camera which gives a nice picture good enough for print quality. The camera speed of taking photos and getting ready for next one is impressive but zooming with a trackball is not good and the video quality is also not so good. The camera shoots at 352×288 pixels providing a blurry video. The lack of flash is also a bad factor.

Applications:
The HTC hero comes with a HTML browser which supports flash player. The inclusion of flash player is a good option but it makes browsing very slow on the sites which contain heavy flash content. The phone comes with games and some additional Google apps such as Google talk etc.

HTC Hero Price:
it is speculated that it might cost up to 310 Euros or 388 us Dollars, which means HTC Hero Price shall not be less than 33,000 in Pakistan. Add some duties and taxes and you’re surely above that!
