How to Jailbreak iOS 4.1 on iPhone 3G with Redsn0w 0.9.5

Please note that if you are already relying on unlock, do not follow this guide as it will lock your device (upgrading your baseband). THIS IS ONLY for iPhone 3G (NON MC) model hence you must refrain if you dont have this version of iPhone. But if you have iPhone 3G (which doesn’t rely on an unlock, non-MC model), then simply follow the below guide on how to jailbreak your device on iOS 4.1 Beta using Redsn0w.

Lets start the step wise guide for now:

Step 1: Download iOS 4.1 Beta for iPhone 3G by following link here.

Step 2: Now what you have to do is to update to latest firmware using the IPSW file that you can downloaded via iTunes 9.2.

Step 3: Start Redsn0w 0.9.5b5-5 (all download links given at the end). Now inside Redsn0w, direct it to iOS 4 (Final Version), and not iOS 4.1 firmware file and move ahead with the jailbreak.

Step 4: Its half done. Just  select “Install Cydia” and click on the “Next”.

Step 5: Now ensure that your iPhone is off and that the device is plugged into the laptop or computer and once that two are done, presso n the “Next” button in Redsnow.

Step 6: Okies now just get your device in recovery mode by pressing the Power and Home buttons continuously.

Once the next screen comes, just quickly press  “Power” button and then while still holding the “Power” button, also press the “Home” button. Yes “Home” button is the one on on the lower centre of the phone. After approx nine seconds, release “Power” button but still keep holding “Home” button till the time you don’t see the installation begin on the screen. In case you did it wrong and nothing happens, don’t worry, just repeat the steps from Step 5 till now.

Step 7: Ahh Last STEPPPP is enjoyment time as RedSnow will do the installation while you have just see the magic unfolding. Upon completion, your iPhone will automatically restart and you have jailbroken iPhone 3G on the latest iOS 4.1 Beta firmware.
