Motorola MB520 Kobe: Expected to be released under AT&T

by dave on August 22, 2010

A relatively unknown device was making rounds of different certification organizations like the WiFi alliance and the UPnP Forum where it was given the designation “Kobe ATT”.

Dear AT&T users, we’re talking about Motorola MB520 Kobe, that will be possibly heading towards AT&T. If the sources are true, AT&T users will have decent choice between the Samsung Captivate, the HTC Aria and the Kobe as all the three of them are very capable Android devices.

After looking at the specs we, can only put it somewhere behind Samsung Captivate, as according to Engadget Kobe MB520 is candy-bar style touch screen Android 2.1 device. Here are some more specs:

-Android 2.1 with a Motoblur-style interface similar to the DROID 2 and DROID X
-3.5-inch LCD with 480 x 854 resolution
-800MHz TI OMAP processor (either 3440 or an underclocked 3630)
-512MB RAM
-PowerVR SGX 530 GPU
-3 megapixel camera (without flash)
-4GB storage (2GB internal storage + bundled 2GB microSD card),

That were pretty decent specs, ain’t it? If that’ not enough Motorola Kobe will also include Swype and DLNA, which are now becoming more of a standard fashion on Motorola’s Android devices. Motorola Kobe will also include Vlingo which is a nice addition for voice control users on Android 2.1.
