We have earlier covered as to how to Jailbreak iOS 4.0.2 with Redsn0w. Now that you have done the jailbreak part, you will be looking forward to unlock your iPhone 4, 3GS and 3G. The best thing is that you can use the same old version of Ultrasn0w to Unlock your iDevice if you have managed to Jailbreak it.
Here is the simple 3 Step Guide to Unlock your iDevice on iOS 4.0.2
Step 1: Jailbreak your iPhone 3G on iOS 4.0.2 as discussed in our Guide here.
Step 2: Since Redsn0w doesn’t hacktivate iPhone 3G, you will need to first activate it using original official supported carrier SIM, or the phonebook SIM card trick as shared in the video below
Step 3: Once activated, you can now unlock your iPhone 3G to run it on any carrier you like by unlocking it using ultrasn0w from Cydia by opening Cydia and going to “Manage” tab. Once inside, Press “Sources”
Step 4: Now Touch on “Edit” and then on press “Add”. At this stage you will be prompted to enter a url source. Type “http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com” and touch on“Add Source” to add this repo if you haven’t already. Cydia will automatically update all sources. Once done, look for ultrasn0w 1.0-1 in Cydia and install it. It will unlock your iPhone.
