World Largest Pen – A Gift to Indian PM

Indians are making headlines these days with a lot of biggest and largest things. Now an Indian social study teacher named M. Srinivasa Acharya, 50, has built world largest Pen. The Pen is 16 feet long, 1-foot wide and weighs 40kg. The pen is brass-plated and is designed by Hyderabad based artist Ratnam and Malikarajan. The pen has been gifted to Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for his efforts in enactment of India’s Right of Education Bill.

The pen has been named as Indian Pen and it took 56 days and about 450 man hours to shape the sheets of brass  into pen and to carve the whole structure with illustrations of Indian culture, Hindu dance forms and musical instruments. The entire project cost Acharya Rs 2.5 lakh ($5,555 USD).
