Seas0nPass also let you create a custom Apple TV IPSW files and restore them in iTunes. Seas0nPass is only for Mac OS 10.6 or above but team is working for window version as well. Here is the complete guide for jailbreaking the Apple TV having iOS 4.2.1 by Seas0nPass.
Things you will need during Jailbreaking process:
- Latest version of iTunes
- Micro USB cable
STEP 1: Unzip the Seas0nPass file that you just downloaded.
STEP 2: If your Apple TV is not jailbroken then first you have to create a custom IPSW file so click on “Creat IPSW” otherwise select “tethered boot”. I will also explain the jailbreaking method after selecting the “tethered boot” afterwards
STEP 3: Now latest Apple TV software will be downloaded which will use in making the custom file.
STEP 4: You will be asked to connect your Apple TV by using USB Cable. Once done then press and hold the “Play/Pause” button and “Menu” buttons simultaneously for 7 seven seconds.
STEP 5: Now iTunes will be open automatically and restoring process will start.
STEP 6: When he process will complete you will be informed by iTunes.
You are done; you have jailbroke your Apple TV.
Now here is the jailbreaking method after clicking on “Tethered boot” in STEP 1.
You will find while jailbraking that some Apple TV software version will require tethered boot, so have to click on tethered boot for them. Here I am sharing the method of jailbrekaing for tethered boot. For those who don’t know, tethered boot means that you have to connect your Apple TV with computer every time when you want to restart.
STEP 1: Run Seas0nPass and select “Boot Tethered”.
STEP 2: You will be asked to connect the Apple TV with computer by using USB cable. Once done, wait for the flashing light and then connect the power. Now you have to press and hold the “Menu” button and “Play/Pause” button simultaneously for 7 seconds.
STEP 3: Now wait till the computer finish its work. Once complete, simply replace the USB cable with HDMI cable.
