TechNama After 181 Posts and Two Months

Posted by MJK On June - 30 - 2009

When we launched TN, i made this point that we will keep our users updated about our progress. Many bloggers refrain from doing it but since we believe in mutual benefit of everyone, it will be good to share our success story with our readers. For this purpose, we created a special category titled “TechNama” where we track our performance with our readers.  We wrote our first post when we had 100 blog posts and today i am writing another post since its been two months that we are here on the blogosphere.

I am proud to announce that TechNama beat all the expectations in the second month of its launch and we are really thankful to our readers for their trust and confidence in our abilities and for appreciating TechNama with their frequent visits. Below are the details.

Google PageRank for TechNama: 4

First of all our biggest achievement is that we got a Google PR of 3 in the first month of our launch. We were too excited about it when we suddenly noticed that our Google Page Rank has further improved to 4 from 3 in the second month of our launch. This is a very big achievement for any new blog site.

Total Number of Blog Posts: 181

A total of 81 quality posts were made at TN by our dedicated team members. This is 19 short of our monthly target of 100 posts.  The total blog posts have reached 181.

Total Comments and Pingbacks: 315

A total of 214 comments and pingbacks were approved on TN

Total Unique Visitors: 43,214

Total unique visitors at TN is 43,214  as of June, 2009. This is approx 400% higher then our last month unique subscribers. We are expecting this growth to reduce in the coming month but still we expect the growth to be in triple figures.

Total Pageviews: 173,000

Total Pageviews at TN for the month of June, 2009 stands at approx 173,000. This is remarkably higher then our target of 130,000 for the month of June, 2009. The Pageviews have also shown an increase of 330% from the previous month. We expect it to grow in the coming months.

Traffic Source Overview:

Traffic source is always a very important indicator for any website. Below is the traffic sources for TN

# Search Engines 18 %
#Referring Sites 60 %
#Direct Traffic 21 %
# Other 1 %

The increase in traffic from referring sites show our authority. More and more sites have been referring to us and hence we are getting increased traffic. I must mention here that one of our post made to the Delicious Most Popular Page and stayed there for the whole week. That is one main reason the traffic from the referring sites showed such a remarkable increase. However, our focus is to increase the traffic from search engines and bring it to 30% in the coming months.

Average Time on Site: 1 min 55 sec

We have slightly missed our target of keeping the average time on site above  2 minutes. But still it is close to it and we will try to improve it in the coming months inshAllah.

Max Visiting Browser: Firefox

Firefox still remains the first choice of our readers. The second most used browser to visit TN is Internet Explorer and Google Chrome stands at third. I never expected Google Chrome to come to occupy the top three spot in such a short time.

Top Country by Number of Visitors: USA

USA tops the originating country of our readers.  The second is UK and the third is Spain. The other five countries on the list are Canada, Vietnam, Hungry, France and India

Ads Revenue by TN: ???

As  usual! Do you expect me to reveal this information? I will keep it private. Anyways, i must tell you that Google Adsense is our primary source of earning. We are still playing with Chitika and we also made our Customized Advertisement page beside applying for Technorati Media. The response is not very encouraging from other sources of advertisement. I must mention here that we got few offers from individuals and other websites who were interested to advertise on TechNama but the offered rates were very low and hence we rejected them. We are still not very much eager about customized ads revenues. Once we start getting adequate traffic, we will focus on this segment of ads revenue. Till then our primary focus is on increasing the Quality Blog Posts on TechNama.

Concluding Remarks:

Since this was the second month of our operations, this remarkable increase was very much expected. However, the growth percentages are expected to come down in the next few months. However, we will try to keep it growing till we don’t reach our goals.  I will share just one component of our goals with our readers here i.e Total Unique Visitors of 150,000 per month. We will update our goals once this goal and the related goals are achieved.

Thanks to our team and our readers for their constant support. In case you have any questions or comment, please feel free to share it with us.

TechNama – After 100 Posts in 27 Days

Posted by MJK On May - 24 - 2009

This post is the 100th blog post on TechNama. Today TN got 28 days old and its performance is better then our expectations. In the first 27 days, our team posted 99 quality blog posts which covered a diverse range of topics. Below are some of the highlights of TN performance which we would like to share with our readers.  We have also specially created the TechNama category to constantly interact with our readers and share with them our success story. We strongly expect you to share your experience with TN and let us know about your feedback since our main goal is to have a two way flow of communication and hence satisfied readers.

Total Number of Blog Posts: 100

A total of 100 quality posts were made at TN by our dedicated team members.

Total Comments and Pingbacks: 110

A total of 170 comments and pingbacks were made and out of those 110 were approved. The other 60 were categorized as Spam. We will keep moderating comments just because we want to ensure that only relevant comments appear on the site and duplications and other irrelevent discussions are kept out of the platform.

Total Unique Visitors: 5094

Total unique visitors at TN is 5094.  On an average 189 people visited the site daily. On another scale, we can count 51 unique visitors per blog post in the first 27 days. This number includes three days of down period that we faced because of the shifting of our server to our current host.  Still the performance is better then our initial expectations but our target is to increase it to a new level of 600 daily unique visitors in the coming month inshAllah. By the way our current daily unique visitors have already crossed 450 and they are increasing every day to set a new record.

Total Pageviews: 24963

A total of 24963 pages were viewed by our readers and its a very encouraging sign that on an average every visitor read 4.9 pages on TN. The higher number of pageviews shows that our readers are very well satisfied with their landing article and hence tried to explore other pages on the TechNama.

Traffic Source Overview:

Traffic source is always a very important indicator for any website. Below is the traffic sources for TN

# Search Engines 49.83%
#Referring Sites 31.24%
#Direct Traffic 17.25%
# Other 1.68%

Google stands out as the leader in the search engine traffic while Digg, Facebook, Dzone, Twitter and Reddit are the major referring sites for TN.

Average Time on Site: 2 min 37 sec

On an average a visitor spent 2 minutes and 37 seconds on the website. Like Pageviews, the higher average time on a site is a very positive indicator for any website. The average time on site for TN is in a positive range and we expect to keep it above 2 minutes although it is expected to come down with increasing number of readers. Our goal is to keep it above 2 minutes in the long run.

Max Visiting Browser: Firefox

The browser mostly used to visit TechNama is Firefox with 53% of our visitors used it to land at our website. The second browser in the list is Internet Explorer with 30% of our visitors using it. The third browser is Google Chrome with 7% while Safari,  Opera, Opera Mini, PS3 and Blackberry browsers were the other browsers used by our readers.

Top Country by Number of Visitors: USA

5094 visitors to TN came from 114 different countries on the globe. However, USA tops the list with maximum incoming visitors. That is the most impressive thing about USA. It will always form the largest number of visitors for majority of the technology related site.

Ads Revenue by TN: ???

Of course you don’t expect  me to share the exact amount. I learned this technique from ProBlogger so if you really want me to share our earnings, first convince ProBlogger to share his earning and we will follow! However, we will share the fact that currently we are only earning from Google Adsense and it did get us few dollars (in tens and not hundreds). One thing that i will surely point out is that TN earning per click is very high for the first month. Lets see how it turns out in the seond month since we have also now displayed Chitika ads on a test basis. If we find them a good alternative to our search engine based traffic, we will keep Chitika other we will remove them. Our direct visitors will not see the Chitika Ads since they are only for the search engine based visitors and that only from US and Canada.

Concluding Remarks and Short Goal for the Monty of June, 2009

We will write our next blog post either after the completion of the second month of TechNama or on the completion of our 2oo blog posts. Till date we are doing very well but the most important indicator for us is the interest of our readers in our site. We really look forward to keep them engaged and to provide them with the quality information, tips, tricks and reviews. We also expect your constant feedback and comments.

We expect to double our unique visitors as well as our pageviews in the coming month of June, 2009 by posting more interesting posts. In case you want us to write on any specific topic, please share it with us. We will surely give it a try and if we find it suitable for TN, we will write on it.  If you read this post till this moment, you are surely one of our most loyal reader and we would like to say:

“Thank you for your Trust and Confidence in TN and we hope to keep your satisfied with our posts. You are always welcome for your feedback and comments”.

I am not and you are not alone out there as majority of the people think that data can not be recovered again once lost. For all such people out there, we decided to do a research and collect all free data recovery tools on the internet in this blog post. However, there are few rules for data recovery and you should keep them stored in your brain. (don’t lose this data else nothing will be restored).

Rules for Data Recovery:
1. Do NOT use the hard drive that you want to recover as your main disk.
2. Do NOT install anything including the Data Recovery Tools and Softwares on the disk that you want to recover

DiskDigger can even scan reformatted or badly formatted disks (disks to which Windows can’t assign a drive letter), and even disks with bad sectors. It bypasses the Windows file system drivers and scans your disk directly. It has its own built-in support for the following file systems: FAT12 (floppy disks), FAT16 (older memory cards), FAT32 (newer memory cards and hard disks), NTFS (newer hard disks), and exFAT (Microsoft’s new successor to FAT32)
