Amazon has revealed Kindle DX , a new version of its Kindle e-reader aimed at reading newspapers, magazines and documents.  The device is 250% bigger than Kindle 2 gadget.

“You never have to pan, you never have to zoom, you never have to scroll. You just read” says the CEO of Amazon Jeff Bezos at launching ceremony held in NewYork.

The Kindle DX has a 9.7-inch screen and is geared towards education. It is slick  (around 1/3-inch) and can store up to 3,500 books, periodicals,  journals etc.  It also supports 3G for quick downloads without having monthly bills or contracts.  Besides, the Read-to-Me feature is also available.

The device has a built-in PDF document reader and the company announced deals with three leading textbook publishers to put their content on the reader. Amazon announced deals with the New York Times, Washington Post and Boston Globe to put their editorial on the device. The trial of new kindle is expected this summer.
