If you think that the security of the e mails might be compromised, sending encrypted mails will definitely come to your rescue as it will add an extra layer of security to your communication. For this purpose, i have long been looking for a free service. Today i came across a website titled Secrets (beta) that offer you a web based e mail encryption service for free.

Secrets is very simple to use service as it requires two steps registration process and then let you send your encrypted mails. However, you need to have a Google account to avail this service. The Google account will serve as your registration account on Secrets. It took me two minutes to register and send my first e mail using Secrets DES 64 bit algorithm encryption (default).  Users can increase security by adopting stronger algorithms, such as:

* Triple DES (128 bit)
* AES-Rijndael (up to 256 bit)
* Blowfish (up to 448 bit)
* ArcFour (up to 2048 bit)

How it Works:

Secrets is easy and secure. Here is how it works:

1. You compose a secret message
2. You set a password
3. You send the message indicating the e-mail address of the receiver

The receiver will get an e-mail with a notice. He follows the link,
enters the correct password, and will be able to read / store / forward / print the message.
