Hulu is a free online video service that offers hit TV shows including Family Guy, 30 Rock, NBA and the Daily Show with Jon Stewart, etc. Hulu’s extensive library also includes blockbuster movies like Lost in Translation as wells as classics like Fiddler on the Roof. For now it only works in USA.
You can also watch some HD videos in their HD cateogry. Apart from this they stack some trailers, have good collection of TV shows and with the Hulu discussion board you can talk on TV shows, movies and provide feedback/talk to Hulu team. You can start the discussion on video page as well.
The Channels give easy access to video categories. There are all kinds of channels like sports, horror and suspense, home and garden, science and fiction, reality and fashion. One of the most interesting move has just come in the form of ABC-Hulu deal that can dent Youtube. Youtube was hoping of providing full episodes of broadcast network on its site but now Hulu is a step ahead.
Under the ABC-Hulu deal, Disney becomes a joint-venture partner and equity owner of online video aggregator Hulu, which has become the No. 3 player in online video in a little more than a year. The deal, which has been expected for several weeks now, unites Disney and its TV networks with NBC Universal, News Corp. and Providence Equity Partners as joint owners of the site. For consumers, the deal means a host of major series—including “Desperate Housewives,” “Lost,” “General Hospital” and “The Secret Life of the American Teenager”—will be available for viewing via Hulu. Disney also will put some of its film library on the site.
Will this build Hulu’s supremacy on Youtube in coming years? what do you think?
